  1. Lol! All you have to do to live that kind of life is to move next door to Malaysia and you will have a much more fulfilling and financially free life.

    1. Depends. The median salary in Malaysia is RM5.8k in 2019. RM6k does not go very far in the larger cities like KL or Penang.

  2. Just read this post, and I have to say it’s quite refreshing! The way you tackled being average and the pressure to be exceptional really hit home. I love how you pointed out that being average isn’t something to be ashamed of, and instead, we should focus on being the best version of ourselves. The contrast between societal expectations and personal happiness is so relatable for many of us in the sandwich generation, managing our own careers while supporting our families.

One thing that stood out to me was the idea of redefining success—it’s super important to acknowledge that everyone’s journey is different. With all the social media noise, it can feel like we’re in a race, so your reminders about self-acceptance and creating our own benchmarks are really crucial for mental well-being.

Here’s my question: Do you think that the pressure to be more than average is stronger now compared to past generations? Like, do we put ourselves in this constant comparison mode because of social media? I’m curious because it feels like the expectations keep ramping up, and I wonder how we can break that cycle. What do you think?
