Great post! You really hit the nail on the head. I totally relate to how being good at your job doesn’t always translate to promotions. It’s so true that so many times, politics and networking play a huge role that we often overlook. I also love how you pointed out that sometimes we need to actively seek feedback and not just wait for it to be given.
So here’s my question: Why do you think folks are so afraid to speak up about their goals and aspirations at work? Is it just the fear of rejection or something deeper, like the company culture not being supportive?
I ask this because it feels like a lot of us are stuck in a cycle where we don’t voice what we want, which could lead to a lot of missed opportunities. Plus, if the culture isn’t allowing for these conversations, how can we ever break the cycle and improve? Would love to hear your thoughts!
