  1. Oh my gosh, this resonated so much, especially since I also recently did a research on the history of retirement. An angle I wanted to share was, with the fast, constantly evolving (and now longer!) working lifespans, we need to destigmatize career breaks. It is a tool for us to recalibrate and reposition ourselves so we can have long-term sustainability over our entire working lifespan.

  2. Hey, just read your post and it’s spot on! It’s crazy how retirement feels like this unattainable goal for many of us in the sandwich generation. You really highlighted the struggles of balancing our own financial goals while also supporting our parents. I resonated with your point about how rising living costs and stagnant wages make planning for the future feel impossible sometimes.

One thing that struck me is how we often get caught in the cycle of “enjoying the now” versus saving for later. It got me thinking: do you reckon we end up spending more trying to keep up appearances, compared to actually saving for a more secure future? Like, with all the pressure to showcase our lives online, maybe we’re sacrificing our long-term goals for short-term validation. How do you think we can strike a balance between enjoying life and being smart with our finances? Just curious to hear your thoughts!
